Little-Known Box March 2020: The ‘Eco Edit’

April 21, 2020

Little-Known Box have a focus on ethics and wellness at our core – which we reflect through the products we feature each month.

We include products from indie, ethical brands in all our boxes – but we’re always conscious of the amount of plastic packaging beauty products can use. So with this in mind, we decided to bring you a totally plastic-free, zero waste edit for the first time in March… our ‘Eco Edit.’

March’s curation included key bathroom essentials, all useful items to help get us through the pandemic. Every product in the ‘Eco Edit’ comes in reusable, biodegradable or recyclable packaging; such as tins, glass bottles and cardboard.

We’re all aware of the need to reduce our consumption of single-use plastics within our lifestyles, and our beauty / bathroom products are a great place to start. Many of these items (such as soaps, cleansers & cotton buds) can easily be switched for plastic-free, eco-friendly alternatives – at minimal cost. This month’s ‘Eco Edit’ introduces brands and products to help you do exactly that.

Little-Known Box March 2020: The 'Eco Edit'

Our ‘Eco Edit’ featured everything from cotton buds to cleanser; from Dr Botanicals (a new brand to Little-Known Box), Kitenest, Flawless Professional Vegan Beauty, UpCircle (another new brand making their debut in this month’s box), Figs & Rouge and Seacret Spa.

From Dr Botanicals, we included a full-size Champagne Radiance Cleansing Bar; which boasts an incredible uplifting scent that our subscribers have loved! This bar is vegan-friendly, natural, cruelty-free and plastic-free. It works to cleanse, hydrate and nourish the skin and is a great addition to your bath or shower.

To keep your lips hydrated and nourished during these unprecedented times, we included a full-size Natural Lip Balm from KiteNest. KiteNest’s range of handmade products are plastic-free, paraben-free and created from 100% natural ingredients. Their collection includes body butters, salt scrubs, dry shampoos, reusable face wipes, shampoo and body bars. The lip balm we included in March’s edition comes in 6 different flavours and is packaged in a stylish reusable tin.

Next up, we included a full-sized Micellar Water from Flawless – a brand our subscribers immediately loved when we first introduced them in August’s ‘Sunkissed‘ edit. Flawless are a UK based, 100% vegan and cruelty-free company; who use 100% plastic-free packaging. This gentle cleansing water contains Aloe Vera & Lavender to soothe and calm the skin, whilst effectively removing makeup and impurities.

Another new brand to the LKB family – making their debut in this month’s curation, are UpCircle Beauty. We included a full-size pack of their Organic Bamboo Cotton Buds as part of the ‘Eco Edit’ – which are biodegradable, housed in a recycled paper box & have sticks made of sustainable bamboo. We love UpCircle’s ethos – leaving the world a better place than we find out, repurposing & recycling ingredients that would otherwise be discarded and transforming them into natural sustainable skincare products.

The fifth item in the ‘Eco Edit’ is from popular UK brand Figs & Rouge. The Hydra-Activ Cream we included in this month’s box is made with Smart Nutrient technology and formulated with Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin E to support & nourish your skin. We’ve had some lovely feedback on it from subscribers already – and we love the selection of unique designs on the tins!

Last but not least, we included a travel-sized Mud Soap from Seacret Spa to conclude the edit. Seacret Spa’s Mud Soap is enriched with Dead Sea Minerals to restore a healthy, natural glow to your skin. Perfect for normal or oily skin types, this luxurious soap effectively cleanses the skin and dissolves oil. It’s made from all-natural ingredients, cruelty-free, paraben-free and suitable for daily use.
